week 5 The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

The Snows of Kilimanjaro is a story about a couple that is stranded. They are waiting for a plain to rescue them. About half of the story is about the couples conveersations and the other half the husband reflecting on life. I think the husbsand in reality is a bad person because he is reflecting on all the woman he used in his life. He seems to hate the wealthy even though he is married to someone who his. His wife seems to love him more than herself and will do anything to make him happy. Even when he is being cruel to her he is she still does not give up and is trying to help him. .He seems to know that he is going to die but she still thinks that he will survive.
I was suprised that a small scrape would eventually kill him even if it did get infected. That was kind of unrealistic. Even though he is an asshole to her he seems to deepdown inside really care about her but just cannot admit it. I feel that Hemmingway is trying to tell the reader that you don’t really know yourself until you are about to die. This is because when the husband was about to die he was able to truely reflect on his life. I was suprised at the end because i thought she was going to save hi somehow but he died leaving a sad ending.If he just lasted a couple more days they probably would of been saved.
